This week, we would like to introduce the Parts Counter (Quantity Counting Machine), a solution designed to improve efficiency and reduce workload in manufacturing operations.

■ A New Way of Counting — “Just Feed the Parts and Let the Camera Count”

The VST4-1 is a next-generation parts counter that uses vision-based counting technology.

Unlike conventional counting methods, parts do not need to be precisely aligned before counting. Simply feed the parts into the machine, and the system automatically detects and counts them using image recognition.

Another advantage is its simple operation. Complicated setup and adjustment are not required, allowing stable counting operations to begin quickly after installation.

The counting process is also designed for both speed and accuracy.

When approximately 90% of the target quantity has been counted, the shutter automatically closes and the conveyor speed is reduced.

The remaining parts are then counted individually with high precision. Once the preset quantity is reached, only the pocket containing the correct quantity opens, completing the counting process.

■ Reducing the Workload on Operators

At NANO, weight-based counting using scales has traditionally been carried out mainly by operators.

Performing weighing and quantity verification continuously over long periods can place a significant physical burden on workers and has become one of the challenges on the production floor.

By introducing the VST4-1, this workload can be significantly reduced.

The VST4-1 can be used for various types of products, including:

■ Introducing the Higher-Capacity “VST4-2”

For applications requiring larger parts or higher processing capacity, we also offer the VST4-2.

The VST4-2 features an additional vibration plate compared with the VST4-1. While this results in a slightly larger machine and installation footprint, it provides increased processing capacity.

Depending on your production volume and available installation space, you can choose the model that best suits your operation: VST4-1 or VST4-2.
