Recently, we received a request from a customer for an image-based rivet sorting service.
Due to the high volume and relatively low unit cost of rivets, manual inspection presents a significant challenge.
That’s where our standard index-type machine comes into play!
It precisely detects defects in the rivet body, flange, and mandrel (shaft section) with pinpoint accuracy.
Using seven 1.3-megapixel CCD cameras, the system captures images from the sides and top of each workpiece,
detecting dimensional anomalies, deformations, and mixed parts (MIX items) within a 0.1 mm range.
In this case, approximately 200,000 rivets were sorted automatically, achieving both high quality and efficiency.
