This week, we would like to introduce NANO’s automatic O-ring sorting system.

NANO’s automatic sorting machine is not limited to dimensional and deformation inspection. It is also highly effective in detecting mixed parts with different part numbers or similar sizes.

Another major advantage is its simple setup. Even operators without specialized knowledge can easily configure the machine and start using it immediately on the production floor.

This time, our customer introduced an O-ring sorting machine to inspect small irregularities on the inner and outer circumferences, as well as the presence or absence of burrs.

The target O-rings have an outer diameter ranging from 7 mm to 40 mm.

O-rings are produced in large quantities and are often black, making it difficult to visually identify small defects such as dimensional differences, burrs, and deformation.

Furthermore, when products with similar sizes at the millimeter level are mixed together, visual inspection becomes even more difficult.

During long inspection periods, it is also difficult to completely prevent missed defects caused by assumptions, loss of concentration, or operator fatigue.

One of the biggest challenges on the production floor is mixed parts with similar shapes but different part numbers.

Whether the mix-up occurs frequently during the production process or is caused by an unexpected mixture of adjustment parts, once it occurs, sorting the affected products requires a significant amount of time and labor.

NANO’s standard machine can process approximately 150 pieces per minute, allowing approximately 60,000–80,000 pieces to be inspected per shift.

No complicated setup is required. Even operators without specialized knowledge can start using the machine immediately from the first day of installation.

In high-mix, high-volume production environments, it is practically difficult to completely prevent mixed-part problems through visual inspection alone.

However, with this automatic sorting system, dimensions, burrs, and deformation can be inspected at high speed, while setup and adjustment work is kept to a minimum.

Even in the event of a large-lot MIX problem, sorting can be started within the same day.
