From 11 Cameras to 6: Achieving Both Cost Efficiency and High Precision in 100% Automatic Sorting
This week, we introduce a case study of our 100% automatic sorting system for flare nuts.
Flare nuts are key components in refrigerant piping, connecting the indoor and outdoor units of air conditioning systems.
To prevent refrigerant leakage, it is essential to inspect the inner serration and microscopic scratches with high precision.
In recent years, quality requirements from air conditioner piping manufacturers have continued to increase.
The main challenge lies in the large number of inspection points.
Attempting to cover all inspection areas typically requires more than 10 cameras, leading to higher costs and risk of over-detection.
By redesigning inspection priorities and optimizing lens placement, NANO achieved a minimal 6-camera configuration, while maintaining full inspection capability and flexibility for similar nut sizes.
This system can reliably eliminate rare but critical defects and enables high-speed sorting at 200–300 pcs/min, greatly contributing to manpower reduction and cost efficiency.
If you are looking to automate visual inspection or improve quality while controlling cost, we would be pleased to assist you.
