About the Motor Shaft Visual Inspection System

This week, we are sharing information about a visual inspection system for motor shafts.

Our mass production factory, Fortune Cross, manufactures motor shafts used in power windows.
Since defects in fast-rotating shafts can potentially damage fully automated assembly lines,
we place utmost importance on quality control with rigorous inspection processes.

■ Stable Output: 15,000 shafts/day, Over 400,000 shafts/month

This line inspects one shaft every 3–4 seconds (cycle time),
processing over 15,000 units per day and exceeding 400,000 units per month.

■ Full Perimeter Check with Multi-Angle 3-Camera System

The inspection system uses a 3-camera setup: two for end faces and one for the top view.

  • The shaft body is rotated and scanned with a line-scan camera to produce a full 360° unfolded image.

  • Additionally, a Dexus Multi-Imager captures up to 8 images under different optical conditions simultaneously, detecting even the smallest scratches or defects.

■ Achieving Human-Eye-Level Detection Precision

Like a person unconsciously shifting angles to find scratches,
this system mimics human-like inspection by switching optical conditions and checking from multiple viewpoints,
providing both precision and flexibility.
