Ultrasonic flaw detectors

【This Week’s Feature】Visualizing “Invisible Defects” with Ultrasonic Testing!

At NANO, we have long provided inspection methods targeting visible defects—such as dimensional deviations, structural issues, hardness variations, and surface flaws.

However, when it came to internal cracks and porosity in castings or die-cast parts, we didn’t yet have a clear solution.

That has finally changed.

We are excited to announce the addition of ultrasonic internal inspection to our lineup!

What Is Ultrasonic Testing (UT)?

When high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) are transmitted into a material, they reflect back upon encountering abnormalities such as internal cracks or voids.

By detecting and analyzing these echoes, we can accurately determine the presence, location, and size of internal defects.

Using the same principle as prenatal ultrasound scans, this non-destructive testing method allows for safe and precise internal inspection.

Main Applications Supported by UT:

  • Detection of internal cracks

  • Inspection of joint separation or bonding failures

  • Identification of porosity or inclusions in aluminum or cast parts

  • Thickness measurement of plastics or composite materials

Although coupling gel is applied during testing, it can be easily wiped off—making the process clean and practical for use in production.

If you are facing challenges in detecting internal defects or porosity, feel free to reach out to us for a consultation!
